Channeling Wyeth

I have always been fascinated by abandoned homes, or just old ones needing love. While in Virginia last month I drove past a house for sale that drew me in. Situated upon a slight rise from the street, empty for some time, with peeling paint and empty windows. The forlorn feeling was enhanced by the spring weather as it was still too cold for the trees to leaf out and the grass to green. At first I wasn’t able to directly correlate why it so intrigued me, then I realized it was reminiscent of a Wyeth painting.

So down this rabbit hole I went, overlaying images to recall Wyeth’s style and emotion with the photo overlay montages I create. Much of this is experimental as the ideas occur faster than the work does, but it has been fun to use such as an inspiration.

Thoughts?
