Influences on subjects

During my travels I am always drawn to things that I see as interesting textures, and colors. Most from nature and Architecture. I have countless images of foliage, paving patterns and buildings. Often my photos from a trip are loaded with close ups of paving patterns and building details, or leaf and flower patterns.

Additionally I seek out vignets that capture both of these elements. When we were in Paris I noticed the windows of the John Galliano boutique. A fantastic collection of oversized flowers offset the cloths displayed. The flowers brought me joy and I saw them as a reflection of how the clothing would make one feel as it was worn. THey also brought reminiscence of friends past that would see this a “amazing” and “beautiful”.

I suppose in that vein it is what I really seek when I combine images in an artwork. Amazing and Beautiful!
