Choosing the correct piece
I have an upcoming event next weekend. In preparation I’ve been looking at pieces to frame to bring with me.
The key, I feel, to finding the right piece is choosing ones that fit the audience for the event. This includes both pricing and subject matter. Then the difficulty is editing the selection as I only have limited space.
Currently I am inclined to print out images of all the pieces I like and take them with me as well. To show to prospective buyers if interested. Being able to show a print versus one on the computer is a better definition of what a finished product may be. Colors shown on computer screens vary and are not an accurate representation of the printed version.
Additionally color varies from printer to printer. Sending the image out to be printed may work if a proof is sent to confirm color choices prior to final printing. I spend a considerable amount of time adjusting colors and shade to achieve the effect I am after. Certainly do not want to loose that inthe printing process. Not to mention the lost cost and time of having to reprint it.
Until I am up and running with a positive cash flow I will continue to print my own pieces.
