Progress

As promised here is an image of the progress on the piece I posted the primary image of on Monday. My first thoughts were to contrast the heavy texture of the lambs ears with a modified photo of a vacant building I took a few months ago.

As I progressed I added a sunset image, indicative of the decay of the unused building and tried a few background textures which I wasn’t pleased with. Instead I applied an watercolor overlay on the initial image to echo the sky and the soft green tones of the lambs ears.

I outlined the structure in white to emphasize it’s presence and how it’s disuse sets it apart from what would otherwise be a central part of a community. As it, and the buildings surrounding it, now sit empty and unused.
