Weekend adventures

We, my husband Tony and I, had an event on Saturday in Canandaigua New York. Tony makes and sells jewelry under the Tonyio brand www.Tonyio.com.

It was well attended and had 400 guests. Tony did quite well and I garnered more input and exposure on my work. One of the things I like most about the events is talking with people who are interested in the work about where the images are from and how I assemble them.

Learning that others are intrigued by the works enough to learn more about them is rewarding. As it takes time to assemble and vet images that may work well together. Its a trial and error process, although I have an eye for what may work it isn’t until I actually assemble them that it is verified.

The piece that caught most attention is Ghost olive with double spiral. An assemblage of two images. One from Rome and the other from Berlin taken years apart. In this instance time is erased as they blend together.

THe image of the Olive floats between a pair of spiral staircases, one image reversed to create the dual image.

So exciting to engage with others and discuss the process and I look forward to more such discussions as I attend future events.
